“Region Strong Award” recipients are chosen by the board of directors in February from among nominations submitted to the board beginning in November.  The “Region Strong Awards" recognize individuals, businesses, groups, or organizations from throughout the Cumberland Gap Region who have made a positive impact in their community and/or county by advancing tourism and tourism development efforts in the categories of history, natural beauty, music, art, adventure, and the Appalachian experience.
