Learn how to hand-build your very own clay planter embellished with mushrooms while enjoying a glass of wine! Join us on Thursday, March 19th, for a pottery class taught by members from the Appalachian Arts and Craft Center in Clinton, TN. The class is $45 dollars and includes all materials, firings, and glaze. Appalachian Art Center Potters will finish the planter with a glaze color of your choice before returning it to The Winery for pick up.
Each student will create a beautiful, hand-crafted, textured clay planter. Expert potters will lead you through each step of the process with hands-on instruction. They will guide you through the process of coming up with a design, marking it out on your piece, and using a blade to cut it and then smooth it together! Learn the basics of clay sculpting, glazing, and firing. The class is $45 and includes hands-on instruction, all materials, glaze of your choice, firing off-site, and a glass of wine. Appalachian Art Center Potters will finish the planter with the glaze color of your choice before returning it to The Winery for pick up.
Seating is very limited, and tickets need to be purchased in advance. Give us a call at (865)745-2902 or sign up through Eventbrite by following the ticket link. The clay will need to be glazed and fired before being returned to The Winery. You must return to The Winery at a later date to pick up your finished pieces.
The class will be held outside, under our tent. This event is rain or shine. All materials, instruction and a glass of wine are included in the ticket price. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Please bring a valid ID. Any participant under the age of 21 or without a valid ID is welcome but will receive a glass of grape juice during the class. Local meat and cheese trays and additional glasses of wine, slushies, and ciders are available for purchase during the class. Arrive early for a $4 wine tasting to try 8 of our wines and choose your favorites.
