he Explore Kentucky Initiative and partner organization, Kentucky Natural Lands Trust are hosting our final 2018 guided hike at Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves' Blanton Forest State Nature Preserve. The program will be led by the KNLT's Stewardship Director, Preston Lacy and EKI founder, Gerry Seavo James. This incredible hike features the largest old growth forest in the state of Kentucky, with trees dating to the late 1600's! Blanton is also home to scenic overlooks, soaring cliff lines, rock shelters, and pristine mountain streams that contain the Blackside Dace, a threatened species of fish. Lace up your hiking boots, dust off your camera, and join us to learn more about this beautiful wilderness area on Pine Mountain in eastern Kentucky!

The program starts at 9:30AM. The hike is 4.5 miles in length and moderate to strenuous going up and back down Pine Mountain.
