Grand Opening of Native Village 10/13 @ 11 am
We would like to invite you to the Grand Opening of the long awaited Native Village. Consisting of a Southeastern style winter & summer house, the project will enhance Wilderness Road State Park's historic area by creating a new educational living history experience. Park guest will have the opportunity to explore life in an 18th-century Native American village and leave with a better understanding of Native culture in colonial America

Bringing the frontier to life with a weekend of history and adventure. See settlers enjoy the fruits of their labor during the harvest season while meeting skilled colonial tradesman. Visit the 18th century trade fair. On Friday 10/12 witness candle making, 18th century hearth cooking, textile dying, artillery demonstrations, and more! On Saturday join us for the grand opening celebration of Native Village at 11am follow by a presentation on "Narratives, Journals and Letters; Exploration and Documentation of Early America" by Mad Ann Bailey at 3pm , a performance of 18th century music by the Sons of Liberty at 5pm.
